Our Name

“Seventh-day” connotes the celebration of the Bible Sabbath, the 7th day of the week, as a memorial of God’s work of creation. We celebrate a loving God who invites us to connect with Him in a special way every Sabbath.

“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” –Genesis 2:2-3

“Adventist” describes us as people joyously looking forward to the soon return of Jesus to this world. On that great day we will meet our loving Savior face-to-face, be reunited with loved ones who have died loving Jesus, and be delivered from all pain, sickness, sorrow, suffering and death.

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” –1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (from the NIV Bible)
